Calm Abiding Meditation Courses Oct 23
Event description
We are so looking forward to sharing next term’s Calm Abiding Meditation Courses. Meditation is such an effective method for dealing with life's challenges because it relates directly to the mind that faces these challenges.
Meditation is the greatest gift we can give ourselves.
Each week you will receive a 2-hour lesson, which will include meditation theory, practice and an opportunity for Q&A.
This term our Thursday Course will be running for 8 weeks and our Friday Course will run for 4 weeks.
In meditation, we learn techniques to become present, still & calm. We are then able to connect more with our innate qualities of care & compassion, both to oneself & to others. And importantly to our qualities of strength, acceptance & wisdom, improving our confidence & resilience to embrace our many challenges.
Ben Adcock who is a long-term student of Tibetan Buddhist Master Lama Choedak Rinpoche will facilitate the Thursday night course.
Ben has been studying & practicing Buddhist philosophy & meditation techniques over the past 20 years. He has been teaching Calm Abiding Meditation for the past 15 years at the Manjushri Buddhist Centre as well as in workplaces, clinical settings, schools and other educational facilities.
Jacky Howarth who is passionate about teaching meditation & yoga in group settings will facilitate the Friday daytime course.
A scripture teacher in our local primary schools for 12 years teaching K-6 the basics of meditation & how to create their happiness from within. She has personal experience of how mindfulness in meditation & yoga practices, can support both physical & emotional wellbeing. Jacky is also a student of Lama Choedak Rinpoche & completed his Calm Abiding Meditation training in 2018.
