Cardigan Pride World Record Attempt
Description
This year our annual Cardigan Pride event is an attempt at a World Record for Most Cardigans in One Place.
Participation takes 15 mins and is simple: put on your favorite cardi and join us in the foyer of The Savoy Hotel, Melbourne for a group photo.
#CardiPride is an annual campaign challenging the gendered ageism experienced by older women - including derogatory representations of older women as 'greedy, stupid, fussy, irritating, evil, frumpy cardigan wearers.'
These devaluing and disrespectful representations are inaccurate and harmful; and they contribute to inequalities for older women including financial insecurity, homelessness and higher rates of violence and abuse.
Our aim is to promote respect for and solidarity with older women. By participating you are helping us build a culture of respect for older women.
