Child Safe Aquatics - New Starters

Overview: The delivery of this training is an important component of implementing the Council’s overall child safe strategy and related action plan.

Objective For participants to better understand:
- their role in helping to create a child safe environment, and the practical steps that can be taken to promote the rights of children and young people to feel and be safe
- external reporting obligations under mandatory reporting, reportable conduct and child safe schemes, duties to report crimes and fulfilling wider obligations on council staff to serve the community
- internal reporting pathways so they know who to tell when they have a concern, including getting advice and support, and clarifying their role in the process so they know what to expect and what is and isn’t within their remit.
