Join us each Wednesday and make something together for a charity or community group.
Beginner Friendly
Step by step instruction and support to use tools will be provided by the tool library team
Learn how to make things such as planters, benches and bird boxes

How To Join

Tickets will be made available on Thursday for the following Wednesday.
There are two ticket options - morning or afternoon
If you want to stay all day, remember to book both
Drop-ins are welcome, but we cannot guarantee a space without a booking.

When an individual ticket option sells out, it will appear as 'sold out' with a prompt to "join waitlist"
If a ticket becomes available, you will be sent an email.
In the email, click the 'get tickets' button and complete your order.

- 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
Morning Session
- 12:45 pm - 1:30 pm
Lunch Time
We will provide a light lunch
- 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Afternoon Session
What to Expect
You will be working as part of a group on one object
There will be one tutor and one volunteer to support the group
All materials, PPE and tools will be provided
Please wear closed toe, flat, non slip shoes
We have a quiet space if you need some time out from the workshop

We expect all members, volunteers and staff to follow and uphold our shared Code of Conduct.
On your first time to the group you will be:
shown a short video outlining our ethos how to work safely in the workshop
given a short tour of the workshop
asked to sign a safety waiver - you must sign this before using the workshop
asked if you consent to having your photograph taken.
Everyone is Welcome

✅ Beginners - no experience necessary
✅ Support Person e.g. support worker, translator, trusted person. carer

- How accessible is the workshop
We are committed to continually improving the accessibility of out workshop and urge you to contact us directly on hello@edinburghtoollibrary.org.uk if you would like to discuss specific requirements or need any help to plan your visit.
Within the workshop space we have a number of aids set up to help improvement the quality of your time spent with us. These include; a hearing loop, gripping aids and height adjustable bench seats.
Support workers and personal assistants are welcome to attend
- What do you do with my personal information?
Our Privacy Policy & Data Protection Statement explains what personal information is collected and kept in connection with the Edinburgh Tool Library activities and how that information will be shared and used.
- How do we find out what we are making each week>
We will send you out an email on Monday. This will include a reminder of some useful information as well as some info about what we are making and who we are making it for.
Some weeks we will be finishing off what was started last week. Others, we will be starting something new
