Ready to Rise Circles — Finding Your New Normal

Who are you now that you're a mum?

Having a baby changes so much more than your daily routine. Your identity, relationships, priorities, body, work, friendships and sense of time can all feel different.

Sometimes you can love being a mum and still miss parts of your old life.

Ready to Rise Circles are relaxed, small-group sessions created for mothers who want space to talk about their experience of motherhood — not just their baby.

This month's Circle: Finding Your New Normal

We'll explore the transition into motherhood and what it means to find a new sense of yourself after having a baby.

Together, we'll talk about:

  • Changes to your identity and sense of self

  • Adjusting to new routines and responsibilities

  • Making space for the parts of you that existed before motherhood

  • The expectations we place on ourselves

  • Finding a balance that feels realistic for your life now

This isn't about getting back to your “old self”. It's about working out what your life looks like now — and what matters to you in this next chapter.

Event details:

When: Thursday 29 October, 11:00am–12:30pm
Where: Mama Midwifery, Kensington
Cost: $40
Babies: Babies are very welcome.
Group size: Limited to 10 mothers.

Come as you are. Bring your baby, your messy thoughts and your real-life experience of motherhood.

You don't have to find your old normal. Let's explore your new one.

What makes circles different?

Circles complement traditional and council-run mothers' groups by offering a space specifically focused on the mum. Rather than learning how to care for your baby, Circles explore how you are experiencing motherhood and how you can care for yourself through the transition.

🤍 It's about you, not just your baby.
A space to talk about your identity, emotions, relationships, wellbeing and the realities of motherhood.

💬 Honest conversations, without judgement.
You don't need to have everything figured out, and there's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with.

🧠 Facilitated by a Mental Health Occupational Therapist.
You'll have the opportunity to explore practical, evidence-informed strategies to support your wellbeing.

👭 Small and welcoming.
Meet other local mums and connect with women who are navigating many of the same changes.

🧠 Practical strategies and gentle tools to support your emotional wellbeing.

✨ No pressure to share. You can participate as much or as little as feels comfortable.

FAQs

  • Can I bring my toddler?

Yes, toddlers are welcome too. We understand that childcare isn't always available and that motherhood doesn't stop when your baby becomes a toddler.

As Circles are designed to provide a calm and supportive space for mothers, parents are responsible for supervising and navigating their toddler's needs during the session and ensuring that their child's participation is respectful of the experience of other mothers in the room.

If your toddler needs more active attention or becomes unsettled, you're welcome to step outside with them and return when you're ready.

  • Can I bring my baby?

Absolutely! Babies are very welcome at Circles. We know that finding time for yourself can be difficult when you have a little one, so there is no need to organise childcare for your baby.

  • Is this a mothers' group?

Yes — but with a slightly different focus. Circles complement traditional and council-run mothers' groups by focusing on the wellbeing of the mum, rather than primarily on how to care for your baby.

  • Is circles group therapy

No. Circles are not group therapy and you don't need a mental health diagnosis or referral to attend.

  • What if I don't feel comfortable sharing?

That's completely okay. There is no pressure to share personal experiences or speak during the session. You can participate at whatever level feels comfortable for you.

  • What should I bring?

Just yourself — and your baby or toddler if you'd like! You don't need to prepare anything beforehand.

  • What if I need to cancel?

Cancellations made before 19 October are eligible for a full refund.

Cancellations made on or after 19 October will not be refunded; instead, your booking can be transferred to a space in the next available Circle.

If you need to cancel or transfer your booking, please contact us as soon as possible.

  • Im pregnant can I come?

Yes. Circles are designed for mothers pregnant and in the early years of motherhood who are looking for connection, honest conversation and a little more space to focus on themselves.

You don't need to be struggling to attend. Sometimes you simply need somewhere to pause, connect and remember that you matter too.
