Clapsticks with Aunty Dinnawhan

Join us at Munimba-ja for a full day around the fire for a conscious clap stick gathering with Aunty Dinnawhan (emu woman), a Waka - Kabi elder.
Come celebrate Creating Enchanting sounds n Rhythms with your own Clap Sticks. Connecting to Country through the knowledge of dau'wa dhu (dry wood/trees) Connecting with our sacred wood for Clap Stick medicine.
You'll get to choose your timber from various tree species provided and be shown how to use hand tools to cut and shape your own personalised clapsticks. Once you are happy with the size and shape of your clapsticks, Aunty Dinnawhan will lead you through mark making using wood burning tools and how to finish and seal using natural oils.

- Dancing to their sacred vibrational sounds
- Damper by the fire cooked by Aunty plus lemon myrtle tea
- Morning and afternoon tea provided.
- Variety of woods
- Sandpaper, knives, tomahawks, various files (but bring your favourite carving knife if you have one)
- Woodburning tools for burning stories into clapsticks
