About the Class:
In this class, participants will learn the basics of the Copper Foil method for Stained Glass making. This technique gets its name from the artist Louis Comfort Tiffany, and was widely popularized for smaller intricate pieces such as the "Tiffany" lamp you may be familiar with. This method of stained glass making is perfect for the beginner, however all levels are welcome to this easily differentiated class as there is much to learn about proper technique! Participants will learn proper technique for cutting their glass using essential glass tools (a variety to try will be provided) as well as how to foil and solder their pieces to create a custom work of art to take home at the end. Sam from Say it With Glass Designs, will bring the "glass store" to you so that you can choose from a unique variety of glass to capture your imagination and bring your project idea to life. Come with an idea and consult with Sam, or choose from one her provided patterns. All materials are included in this course, and in addition to lots of modeling, you are sure to leave feeling good as you take creative risks and make something beautiful alongside other artistic folks.

"So why glass? I’ve done lots of different art forms and glass, as I am sure you can imagine, can be a fickle beast. Breakage is just going to happen every once in a while. But in working with glass, I had to recognize the beauty in making mistakes and not leaving them behind, but finding ways to grow something spectacular from them. Oddly enough, I get a little excited when something doesn’t work quite right these days. It’s an invitation to grow, think, and problem solve and I have never been disappointed with the outcome at the end of the journey." - Sam
