Join Kristy 'Krissy' your Certified Wim Hof Method Instructor and founder of Lion Hearts Breathwork for the Fundamentals Wim Hof Method Workshop.

Fully experience the WHM of breathing, cold exposure and mindset. Enjoy gentle stretching and yoga (no experience needed and all fitness levels welcome) Learn about the method, Wim Hof, the benefits and more, enjoy yummy snack's and a hot cuppa.... In the simplest of terms, the Wim Hof Method is a natural path to an optimal state of body and mind.

These event's are held in Krissy's home studio in Bilambil Heights 'Sacred Space' an intimate private space set amongst the trees in nature up the beautiful mountain overlooking the Tweed river......This is truly an opportunity to take control of your health and your life!

The WHM Fundamentals workshop is a super fun day while learning all about Wim Hof himself and the method, the mechanics of breathing, cold exposure and the benefits and why! We'll touch on the science but this session is largely experiential. Feel the effects of the method yourself. Take these tips and techniques home to continue on your path to a strong, happy and healthy life.

The method was groundbreaking because for the first time in history it was proven to influence the autonomic nervous system and the immune system. It is a way to push yourself between various extremes and has a deep impact on your body and mind. The method forms a training ground for learning to deal with discomfort, increasing resilience and immunity.

The breath is powerful, and it’s your remote control to the autonomic nervous system. It quiets the mind, connects us to our emotions and subconscious and has profound physiological effects. People report having more energy, better sleep, increased overall well-being, among other positive benefits.

We'll run through all the theoretical information about the method but predominantly it's about experiencing the method fully. Light delicious vegetarian snack included too!

For decades on end, Wim Hof has been training his body and mind in the most extreme wintry conditions, in untamed areas. Nature has always been his teacher. He found that breathing, as well as overall mindset, work more effectively under these conditions, which, in turn, results in greater endurance to extreme coldness. Throughout the years, Wim has further designed and perfected his techniques by consistently examining his body and mind, and by continuously expanding his own boundaries, time and time again.

His stunts landed him a great deal of exposure and the nickname The Iceman. Thus far, he has been listed over twenty times in the Guinness World Book of Records, including:

  • Climbing Mount Everest past the “death zone” (~7,500 meters) wearing nothing but shorts and shoes (2007)
  • Completing a full marathon in temperatures close to −20 °C (−4 °F) above the polar circle in Finland. He ran the entire race shirtless and finished the marathon in 5 hours and 25 minutes (2009)
  • Taking the longest ice bath ever recorded: 1 hour 53 minutes and 12 seconds
  • Running a full marathon in the desert of Namibia with temperatures of 40 degrees, without drinking any water.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

We discourage people to practice the method in case of epilepsy, Raynaud’s syndrome type II or pregnancy.

For any health condition, especially listed below please consult your doctor and let me know prior to arrival, there will be health declaration and a waiver to complete prior to the workshop:

  • People who have heart problems, or blood pressure that is (much) too high and who use medication for this
  • Kidney failure
  • Angina Pectoris
  • Raynaud’s syndrome (type I)
  • Migraines - people can experience sudden migraines when entering the ice bath. 

    Shortly after an operation

  • Panic disorder - during the breathing exercises and/or the ice bath a sudden panic attack can occur. 
  • Cold urticaria
  • Severe asthma
