Brush up on your creative writing skills prior to entering this year's Young Writers' Competition!

Award-winning children's author Belinda Murrell will lead a one hour workshop of brainstorming games, lively writing activities and experimenting with ideas from her writing toolbox.

Magic and Mystery - Suitable for students in years 3 to 6. Unleash your creativity and create your own adventurous plots, vivid settings and characters who leap off the page.

Write. Write. Write. - Suitable for students in years 7 to 9. Take your writing to the next level. Learn tips and techniques from a professional author, to make your writing shine.

4 sessions available on Tuesday 16 April 2024:

  • 9:30 - 10:30am at Mona Vale Library (years 3 - 6)
  • 11am - 12pm at Mona Vale Library (years 3 - 6)
  • 2 - 3pm at Warringah Mall Library (years 3 - 6)
  • 3.30 - 4.30pm at Warringah Mall Library (years 7 -9)

Writing materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your favourite notebook and pen should you prefer.

Books will be available to purchase on the day, cash only (priced between $15.00 and $18.00)

About Belinda: Belinda Murrell is an award-winning, internationally published author who has written more than 35 books ranging from junior fiction to adult non-fiction. Belinda’s books include The Golden Tower and The Silver Sea, her popular series The Sun Sword, Lulu Bell and Pippa’s Island, and historical novels The Ivory Rose, The Locket of Dreams, and The Forgotten Pearl. Her latest books are a magical series for younger readers, called the Daredevil Princess. Belinda’s books have been shortlisted nine times for the Young Australians Best Book Award, and highly commended in the PM’s Literary Awards.
