Day 1: En Plein Air Sketching in Pyrmont
Date: Friday 21st February 2025
Time: 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Meeting Point: Park next to Hotel Palisade, Dalgety Rd, Pyrmont NSW

What to Expect:
- Morning Kickoff: Begin with a tour of inspiring outdoor locations, guided by a live demonstration to set the tone for your drawings.
- Guided Sketching: Receive on-the-spot feedback and support as you work on capturing compelling compositions.
- Foundational Artwork: Use your sketches to lay the groundwork for larger, mixed-media masterpieces.
- Wrap-Up: Conclude the day with a complimentary drink at the Hotel Palisade, enjoying its breathtaking views.
Day 2 & Day 3: Studio Sessions at Marrickville

- Who Should Attend: Intermediate to advanced artists seeking to expand their creative practice.
- Materials: En Plein Air list attached below and a suggested materials list for studio sessions will be provided upon registration.
- Parking & Public Transport:
- Day 1 (Pyrmont): Wilson Parking at Barangaroo Point (300m walk) or street parking. Nearest train station: Circular Quay (1.2 km walk).
- Days 2 & 3 (Marrickville): Free parking available at Drawn Together Marrickville Studio. Nearest train stations: Sydenham or St Peters (both 1.2 km walk).
Additional Options
If you are only interested in the en plein air experience on Friday 21st February, from 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM, a separate booking option is available.
Materials List for En Plein Air Sketching
Essential Supplies:
- 4B pencil and sharpener
- Cartridge pad/sketchbook (any size, with a board and clips if needed)
- Artline pen, small brush, black marker or Sharpie, and a small bottle of water
- Hat, drinking water, sunscreen
Optional Extras:
- Black or sepia ink
- Fountain pen
- Watercolor or gouache kit
- Larger drawing brush
- Portable chair or stool (extras available if needed)
