'Field notes' at Darebin Parklands
Hosted by Craig Burgess from Draw Plants Together in collaboration with Adele Daniele from Because I Like You creative studio, Field-notes is a 3-week creative process with a collective print outcome.
In weeks 1 and 2 spend time drawing and note taking, and in week 3 we make a simple print publication together guided by Adele.
Following the final session, we’ll each get copies of our collective outcome :)
Session dates: April 2nd, April 9th, April 16th
Week 1 & 2 – May 28th, June 4th – 6pm to 8pm
Drawing sessions
Week 3 – April 11th – 6pm to 8pm
The compilation and design of a publication (poster or booklet) led by Adele, featuring field notes and drawing from weeks 1 and 2, along with photographic documentation from across the 3 weeks.
The publication will be printed following the final session and we each get copies of our collective outcome :)
Sessions are indoors at the Gleeson Centre.
The fee for 3 weeks is a ‘sliding scale’ and includes all art materials, venue hire, and 10% donation to First Nations orgs.

- Please bring your own portable seating, foldable chairs or picnic mat if you would like to sit.
- Please wear suitable shoes that are good for walking over uneven ground, water bottle, snacks, sun protection
Adele Daniele is a graphic designer and owner of Because I Like You, a creative studio focused on impactful visual experiences. With a passion for storytelling, she blends artistic creativity and strategy to deliver memorable designs. Adele takes pride in designing publications that highlight projects or commemorate special events, adding a personal touch to meaningful moments. Inspired by nature, her work combines bold aesthetics with thoughtful design, capturing her clients' visions. As the force behind Because I Like You, Adele continues to connect with audiences through her innovative designs.

Craig Burgess is an artist and learning facilitator with 20 years’ experience in a range of different learning environments. Craig set up ‘Draw Plants Together’ in 2023, and hosts inclusive plant drawing workshops indoors and outdoors in community spaces across Narrm. Draw Plants Together is a way for Craig to contribute his experience and skills in art and learning in connection with his love of plants and his interest in well-being. Craig has studied art (RMIT and VCA) and completed an Advanced Certificate with Gestalt Therapy Australia. Last year, he participated in the Habitat and Conservation Management course through Darebin Creek Management Committee. He also works and volunteers at Victorian Indigenous Nurseries Co-op (VINC).
