Fire and Recovery: Guided-Walk
Event description
Come for a guided walk and learn about fire management within our national parks. Staff from the Regional Operations team will lead you on a guided walk showcasing the stunning forests of Deep Creek National Park. On the walk, you will learn about Deep Creek NP’s fire history, as well as some of the important fire dependent species, including threatened birds like the Southern Emu Wren and Beautiful Firetails.
You will be able to see in person the necessity and benefits of prescribed burns as the guides offer their knowledge into the region’s native plants and their need for open spaces and regeneration post fire.
