Friends of Dularcha Frog Monitoring and End of Year Celebration.
Description
Join Friends of Dularcha National Park and Friends of Parks Queensland ecologist Dr Katrin Lowe for a guided nocturnal frog monitoring survey in Dularcha National Park and help put local frogs on the map for FrogID Week!
Dr Katrin Lowe completed her PhD on Wallum frogs of Australia and will guide you through the park after dark, teaching you how to listen for frog calls, identify frog habitat, and record your observations using the free FrogID app. Every recording you make contributes real data to researchers working to understand local biodiversity and ecosystem health across Queensland.
What we're hoping to hear (conditions permitting):
The tusked frog and whatever else the night has in store!
Every walk is different, and what we find depends on the weather, recent rainfall, and the season. No experience needed, just bring your phone, suitable walking shoes, water, and a sense of adventure!
Spaces are strictly limited to 15 participants, so register early to secure your spot.
