Price $20 – $200 USD + BF + Sales tax Register

Event description

Are you ready for some great Jiu Jitsu? because we are!

Girls in Gis is a community of women and girls in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu that come together through donation based training events.  They are hosted, instructed, and attended only by women and girls. It's our time to come together! All ages and skill levels from any academy affiliation are welcome to attend. No experience required. Our events are designed for 100% participation, but do allow chaperones to accompany underage participants as spectators.

Our events are donation based in order to provide equal opportunity to everyone. Your donations provide paid teaching opportunities for our guest instructor(s) and help to expand and make Girls in Gis programs such as our events, our leadership program and instructional training programs and our scholarships possible. If you are not able to make a donation please contact us and we will work with you so that you are able to participate.

You can also purchase a GIG t-shirt, patches and more GIG merchandise with your donation. All orders can be picked up during the event.

GIG Sewell-New Jersey Guest instructors: Amanda Leve & Cindy Ung

Amanda Leve is a jiu jitsu black belt who was fortunate to grow up training and competing for 13 years. She learned a lot about life, people, and herself all through jiu jitsu. She loves competition and has grappling matches on YouTube with millions of views, which shows that others enjoy her competing too. She started transitioning over to MMA, currently 2-0 as an amateur and about to make her pro debut with the PFL. She is also 1-0 in amateur boxing and 1-0 in amateur kickboxing. Her favorite jiu jitsu accomplishments are:

  • 1st Place ADCC WC Trials (2019)
  • 1st Place Finishers 4 Tournament (2017)
  • 1st Place Grapplers Quest Pro Submission (2019)

Cindy Ung is a brown belt, avid competitor, and kid's instructor. She started her martial art journey in 2017 in Philadelphia at Balance Studios. She started off in Muay Thai and quickly also tried her first jiu jitsu class. She kept up with both disciplines for a couple of years, but ultimately found a deeper-rooted love and focus for jiu jitsu. She started off as a hobbyist who competed about twice a year, but become more active in the competition scene when she received her purple belt. For Cindy competition is a powerful tool for self-improvement/development.

Her tournament accomplishments include 2024 2x Gold medalist ADCC Open, 2024 Top 8 ADCC -55KG West Coast Trial. She is also an IBJJF No-GI Pan American Bronze Medalist, Multiple time open IBJJF Medalist, 2023 ADCC -55KG East Coast Trial Bronze Medalist, Ranked on FloGrappling at 125lb.
