Growing the Pie - International Grant Opportunities
Event description
“The Australian Funding Landscape” is a series of online workshops delivered by the Research Development Program with the aim of showcasing the diversity of opportunities available to UTS researchers in attracting external research funding.
The series began with an overview session, showcasing the breadth of the research funding landscape in Australia. Six follow-on sessions will follow on from this, each providing detailed insights into each funding opportunity type.
This is the registration page for the follow-on session ‘Growing the Pie - International Grant Opportunities’ convened by Elly Pineda (UTS Research Office).
Finding money to support research can sometimes seem like navigating a never-ending maze of guidelines, requirements, and so forth. This is especially true in the international funding landscape for which there are numerous avenues of funding sources, both private and public. In the presentation ‘growing the pie – international grant opportunities’ we will discuss major international public – Government funding agencies for pre-award, provide an overview of common terminology and find out how to find international funding opportunities. In this session, for example, we will be joined by Distinguished Professor Louise Ryan from the Faculty of Science, Associate Professor Stuart Perry from FEIT, and Dr Yoko Furukawa, Science Director, from the US Office of Naval Research Global. Dr Furukawa will briefly discuss funding opportunities available to researchers in science and technology.
By the end of this session, you will have a deeper understanding of the kinds of research activities that can be funded by international grants and how to find and apply for them.
