Tendering fundamentals
Event description
“The Australian Funding Landscape” is a series of online workshops delivered by the Research Development Program with the aim of showcasing the diversity of opportunities available to UTS researchers in attracting external research funding.
The series began with an overview session, showcasing the breadth of the research funding landscape in Australia. Six follow-on sessions will follow on from this, each providing detailed insights into each funding opportunity type.
This is the registration page for the follow-on session ‘Tendering fundamentals’ convened by Annamari Laaksonen, Lesley Hine and Sarah Angus (UTS Research Office).
This session will be delivered as a Zoom webinar, where funding from competitive research Tenders will be explored.
Tenders are quite different to the usual sources of funding, but can provide significant support for research endeavour. Lead-times for preparing tenders is often short, and it takes time and effort to build relationships with tenderer stakeholders, pull together a team with the appropriate mix of skills and experience, and write a response that hits all the right notes.
During this session we hope to raise awareness and understanding of the research tendering landscape in Australia We will be looking at how you can be supported in the preparation and submission of research tender. You will also hear tips and tricks from a range of academics that are experienced in the tendering space.
As a result of attending this workshop you will you gain a deeper understanding of what it takes to approach the development of a competitive research tender response. We hope to motivate people to engage more in this space.
