Haumanu for Climate Action (Part 2): In Te Taiao
Description
This in-person gathering is Part 2 of the Haumanu journey designed to support how we show up for climate collaboration ahead of the Future Search Wānanga.
Building on the foundations introduced in the Part 1 online session, this experience invites you into a deeper, place-based experience in te taiao (the natural world). Together, we’ll explore what it means to work from connection rather than disconnection and how the state we bring to our climate mahi shapes trust, alignment and collective impact.
This time together is designed to support you to arrive at the wānanga feeling more grounded, more connected and more resourced to meet the complexity of this moment together.
What to expect:
Time in te taiao guided by mātauranga Māori, learning from the wisdom of trees, whenua and whakapapa
A gentle hīkoi (walk) from the rākau (trees) to the moana (Judges Bay), connecting with place and story
Accessible grounding and nervous system practices
Small-group whakawhanaungatanga
Exploration of connection and disconnection in climate work
Practical tools you can bring back into your life and mahi
This session will involve standing and a gentle hīkoi (walk) with pauses for reflection and kōrero, including some stairs. You’re welcome to bring something to sit on, and please feel free to reach out if you’d like to kōrero about mobility or access needs. Alternatively, you might want to consider the joining the online option for Part 2 if this format doesn’t suit your needs.
