QDA Series: How we show value of Qual Res - Numbers
Event description
Uncover the complexities of using numbers in qualitative research with this workshop. Led by Dr Erin Turbitt, you'll learn about the challenges and limitations of frequency counts of themes or concepts in qualitative analysis. Discover when it may be appropriate to use numbers and the significance of supporting these decisions. This workshop will focus on the use of numbers in thematic analysis, and refer to the BigQ, small 1 concepts introduced in workshop #2. Join us to deepen your understanding of the nuanced approach to using numbers in qualitative research, and to learn alternative methods for showing the value of qualitative research
Learning outcomes:
- Learn about challenges and limitations of applying numbers in qualitative research
- Develop confidence in the value of qualitative data analytical methods
This is the fifth workshop in the Qualitative Data Analysis series for 2023, led by Dr Nick Hopwood and Dr Erin Turbitt. It will be held both online and in-person, and it may be recorded.
