Supported Playgroups: Webinar
Event description
Finding safe, welcoming spaces for your child in the early years can make a world of difference — especially for families raising children with disability. A sense of belonging and support during this time can help children thrive and give parents and carers the confidence to know they’re not alone. Supported Playgroups are designed with this in mind, offering inclusive groups for children with specific needs aged birth to 5 and their families.
In this session, Playgroup NSW’s Lauren Ralph will introduce Supported Playgroups and walk us through how they’re structured, who they’re for, and why they matter.
We’ll explore
• What makes a playgroup ‘supported’ versus mainstream playgroups
• How Supported Playgroups are structured and facilitated
• The role of the facilitator and what families can expect
• The benefits of supported play for children and families
• How to find a Supported Playgroup in your area
• What to expect in your first session
