Introduction to Watercolours - Fundamentals: The main steps in watercolour painting.

In this session, estabished watercolour artist and tutor, Dan Nastasie consolidates the techniques and learnings of the past 5 sessions into special this finale - producing a watercolour painting.

• Prepare Materials: Gather paints, brushes, water, and suitable paper and organise your working space correctly.
• Plan Your Composition: Make a thumbnail tonal value study and choose a colour palette.
• Apply Light Washes: Start with a wet-on-wet technique for soft backgrounds painting only the light values.
• Build Layers: Use wet-on-dry for details in middle tone values, adding depth and contrast gradually.
• Blend and Refine: Adjust transitions and textures in dark values. 
• Finish Details: Add fine lines or highlights once all the layers dry completely.
