Introduction to Watercolours - Fundamentals: Perspective.
Event description
Watercolour artist and tutor, Dan Nastasie, explores Perspective in art: the technique used to create the illusion of depth and three-dimensional space on a flat surface.
Linear perspective uses a vanishing point and converging lines to depict distance, while atmospheric perspective employs fading colours and reduced detail for depth.
Artists manipulate scale and overlapping elements to establish spatial relationships. Perspective enhances realism, making objects appear proportionate and scenes immersive. Mastery of perspective allows artists to convey space, focus attention, and evoke a sense of realism or drama.
In this session we will understand and apply the linear and the atmospheric perspective to a watercolour landscape.
