Gavin will help us understand whether you need to sort anything in the privacy space. He will summarise your obligations under the Privacy Act and associated risks you may be carrying, as well as when you might have to worry about overseas privacy laws and threats.
As a bonus, he will provide a range of tips for avoiding being hacked, where to find free training on privacy, and how to identify and prioritise the risks and solutions most relevant to your business.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Dr Gavin Knight
Gavin in passionate about helping people and organisations to protect their information, stay safe and live free. He is an experienced privacy professional and licensed private investigator with more than 20 years’ experience. He has worked in government sector leadership roles, including Chief Data Scientist at New Zealand Police, and as a Privacy Officer and Chief Information Security Officer in the public health sector. He has also supported smaller private organisations to manage their data and privacy.
In July this year, Gavin founded GoPrivate Ltd, with a team of six to help SMEs to sort their privacy, risk and workplace issues. Aware that small businesses don’t have big budgets like large organisations, they have developed affordable packages that help SMEs manage their privacy and risks without breaking the bank.
Gavin is a family man and jazz musician. He has performed here, in Southwards Theatre on a couple of occasions to help raise funds for Kāpiti Coastguard.
