Learning, Sharing, and Connecting through Culture with Jade Brook
Event description
Lenswood Primary School is preparing for a special experience on August 1st from 3:15pm, with Jade Brook, who is proudly Kaurna, Nurrunga, and Ngarrindjeri.
To launch our 'Resilient Lenswood' project, Jade will lead us through an Immersive Welcome to Country, an invitation for all to connect with Country. This experience is more than a welcome, it’s also an invitation to slow down, listen, and learn how Country speaks and teaches in ways no one else can.
In this interactive session, Jade will share Aboriginal signs, symbols, and art protocols, offering insight into how story and knowledge are carried through generations.
Following this, we’ll come together to make headbands that celebrate our learning and express our reflections creatively.
We’ll close our time around a BBQ and yarn, a relaxed and meaningful way to connect, ask questions, and reflect in community.
We look forward to this afternoon of learning, sharing, and connecting through culture.
