Event description

Step into the world of nature journaling and create your very own unique sketchbook! In this hands-on workshop with Monica Peters and Leila Lees, you’ll learn simple binding and gluing techniques to craft a one-of-a-kind nature journal - you don't have to be an artist.

What you'll learn

  • How to cut and fold paper precisely
  • Stitch pages to the cover
  • Make a simple protective sleeve for housing your journal.
  • You’ll add your own design flair to your covers, making your journal truly your own (or a unique gift for someone else!).

What we’ll provide

Different types of paper and card, glue, binding thread and drawing materials for personalising your journal.

What to bring

  • Lunch and a drink
  • Old clothing or an apron
  • 30cm metal ruler (if you have one)
  • Bring along any nice paper or card lying around at home you still haven’t found a use for!

Suitable for age 12+

Journals are a creative way of slowing down and noticing the beauty around you, so we’ve also designed three exciting outdoor “exploring the transition zone” experiences where you can use your new journal to sketch, capture your thoughts, and collect specimens for pressing.
