Ministry Booster: Pastoral Care 101
Richard Black (BA, BD, MCouns (Distinction), MNZAC) who did the recent Ministry Booster: Caring Well will be doing a one-day training event, Pastoral Care 101 for CCVT to upskill pastoral workers. It is designed for anyone in a pastoral or caring role (pastoral carers, ministers, chaplains, small group leaders, youth leaders etc).
Topics to be covered:
- The purpose of pastoral care
- The power of the relationship
- Self-awareness
- Chauffeuring and journeying with a person
- Listening well
- Turning a chat into a pastoral conversation
- How to ask great questions
- Working with those with higher needs or at risk
- Caring without drowning
