Move! and Dance with Bella (9 to 12 years old)

• About the workshop: 

Get moving and have fun making and performing your own unique dances! This workshop focuses on harnessing your individual creativity and physicality to become an amazing dancer. Together we'll explore what makes us move - using our imagination to create, make and perform our own choreography.

This workshop is aimed at introducing kids to ways we can connect, play and create our own styles of dance. The skills are focused on promoting confidence, teamwork, imagination and self-expression in a safe and supportive creative environment. 

Delivered by theatre maker, puppeteer and teaching artist Bella Young, this workshop is open to primary aged participants, with a suggested age range of approximately 9 - 12 years. 

Workshop aims:

- Instil positive expression of individuality in movement and dance,

- make dance fun, unique and playful.

- Grow confidence, resilience, spatial awareness and teamwork in a group setting.

- Embodying a sense of play, fun, presence and connection onstage and in the creation of theatre/dance.

- Visiting from Ireland, Bella will also help us explore the theme of "Cruinniú na nÓg 2025" (children’s day) - imagination. 

• About the facilitator: 

Bella is a performing artist based between Cork, Ireland and lutruwita [Tasmania], Australia. Bella is Youth Advisory Officer on the board of RANT Arts (https://www.rantarts.com/board) and works as a puppeteer with Terrapin Puppet Theatre (https://terrapin.org.au/), and previously as a theatre-maker with Second Echo Ensemble (https://secondechoensemble.org/). She works predominantly as a puppeteer, actor, teacher and physical theatre performer. Expect lots of energy, movement, music, and reflection.
