Nardoo Hills Guided Visit (Vic), 2 and 3 May 2025
Event description
We are delighted to invite you to join us for an enlightening day at Nardoo Hills Reserve in North Central Victoria. After meeting our staff in the small town of Wedderburn, you'll hop into our 4WD vehicles and journey into the heart of these reserves.
From there, we'll be on foot, exploring an open valley where you’ll hear directly from our dedicated field staff and witness firsthand our innovative project work. This includes the Spring Paddock watershed repair and the climate resilient revegetation.
Our goal is to showcase the progress of our work, made possible by your support, and to further connect our community of supporters who share our vision of returning the bush to good health. So, lace up your walking shoes and pack a picnic lunch for a great day out in the bush.

Transport
You need to arrange your own transport to reach the meeting point. From here you will transfer into Bush Heritage four-wheel-drive vehicles (4WD) to travel onto the reserve. This is a journey of approximately 40 min to reach the start of our walk.
Fitness / Access
You need to have good fitness and mobility to undertake this walk. The distance won’t be long, approximately 5 km at a gentle pace, walking down a gently sloped valley before wandering back up to our vehicles. We will make use of some vehicle tracks but mostly be walking off track, so the ground will be uneven and rocky underfoot in places. You will be on your feet once we leave the vehicles, and lunch will be BYO picnic in the field perched on the ground, logs or rocks.
Important notes
- You need to bring your own lunch, snacks and water for the day.
- A light morning tea including hot drinks will be provided on arrival at the meeting point.
- A more detailed itinerary will be sent to you prior to your visit.
- This is a day trip only. If you wish to stay locally, the closest towns with accommodation options are Wedderburn and Charlton.
Cost
$50 per person (non-tax deductible). This fee is to help cover the additional costs for us running this trip and to prioritise donations to go towards our conservation work.
Refund policy
Please note that refund on cancellation is available up to 14 days prior to the event.
