NetWalking with the Birrarung

Step away from the boardroom and discover a different way to network beside the Birrarung.

Join us for a guided NetWalking experience where meaningful conversations unfold naturally as we walk together through one of Melbourne's most inspiring riverside landscapes.

Designed for professionals, business owners and community leaders, NetWalking replaces business cards and elevator pitches with thoughtful conversation, reflective prompts and genuine connection. As you wander beside the river, you'll be invited to slow down, notice your surroundings and explore fresh ideas inspired by the wisdom of Place and the restorative qualities of nature.

Whether you're looking to build new professional relationships, spark collaborations, gain fresh perspectives or simply enjoy a different approach to networking, you'll leave with meaningful connections and renewed inspiration.

Please bring a water bottle, comfortable walking shoes and clothing suitable for the weather.

Meeting point: Richmond side of the Walmer Street Bridge, before heading out along the Main Yarra Trail.

Please note: Numbers are limited to 10 participants to ensure a relaxed and engaging experience.

This event is proudly hosted by With Nature, a partner of the Elevate Netwalking ambassador programme.

  • Events will proceed unless severe weather or other unforeseen circumstances require a change. If this happens, registered participants will be notified by email.

Accessibility

This event involves walking along shared, mostly sealed paths beside the Birrarung. Participants should be comfortable walking at a relaxed pace for the duration of the session. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather.

Celebrate the Yarra, Birrarung at one of 70+ events hosted over three weeks from 27 September to 18 October. Whether you enjoy riverside walks, cleanups, creative workshops, wildlife spotting or paddling adventures, there's something for everyone at Riverfest. Acknowledgement of Country

Yarra Riverkeeper Association acknowledges that the lands and waterways of the Yarra, Birrarung catchment, are the unceded territories of the Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung and Bunurong Boonwurrung peoples. We pay respect to Traditional Owners, who have, and continue, to care for Country. We acknowledge that the river now called Yarra has always been known as the Birrarung by its custodians.
