Event description

Join meditation teacher, hip-hop artist, and author Ofosu Jones-Quartey (Born I) for a unique daylong retreat celebrating the release of his new meditative hip-hop album Komorebi and his new book Lyrical Dharma: Hip-Hop as Mindfulness.

This special gathering will include periods of guided and silent meditation—both in movement and stillness—a deeply relaxing crystal bowl sound bath, readings from Lyrical Dharma, and a live performance of songs from Komorebi.

Books will be available for purchase and signing on-site. If you are interested, you can pre-order Lyrical Dharma here.

This experience offers an exploration of the healing and transformative power of meditation, self-compassion, and creativity. We hope you’ll join us.

This program is appropriate for both new and experienced meditators. Everyone is welcome.

This retreat is freely offered, and dana (generous donations) may be given, in support of DVI and Ofosu in support of his teaching and guidance.

This is a hybrid event. Attend in person with Ofosu at the Unitarian Society of Germantown or online via Zoom.
