Event description

For children aged 3-5 years and their parent or carer.

City of Canada Bay and Plumtree Children's Services are pleased to launch the Auslan video version of the picture book Our Library featuring special guest children's entertainer, singer, dancer, and author, Emma Memma.

Written and illustrated by Donna Rawlins, Our Library is a celebration of public libraries and local communities.

Emma Memma, through her love of music, sign language, and dance, will be leading us through a session of singing, signing, and storybook reading. The morning will include a meet-and-greet and craft activity. Book purchasing will also be available on the day.

Ticketing:
A ticket is required for each child and adult attending.

Please arrive by 9:45am and have your tickets ready at check-in. Please limit your booking to one adult only to allow spaces for children.

Crowd, noise, and expectations:

We are expecting a large crowd of around 150 people at this event. If your child is nervous about crowds and noise, please prepare them before the day. Let them know there will be lots of people and it will be noisy and busy, but it is a safe place and it will be fun. Please bring along noise cancelling headphones if it helps.

Emma Memma and her Auslan interpreter will be reading and signing a story in Auslan which will take around 15 minutes. Please prepare your child for sitting through the storybook reading. You may want to bring along a fidget or weighted toy to help settle your child for the story.

Photography and filming:

There will be photography and filming at this event. Please let staff know at check-in if you do not want your child to appear in photos or video recordings.
