Event description

About the Course:

Palliative care is more than you think.

This one-hour community education course explores what palliative care is in a simple and community-friendly language. It will introduce you to ten easy-to-remember aspects of palliative care, so you can improve your understanding and describe it to others.

Why attend?

How we care for our dying reflects the humanity and compassion of our society. Through education and training, we can create resilience, understanding and capacity within our community, helping us to care for people who matter most to us.

Who can attend?

The course is for all members of the Tasmanian community, and there is no requirement for training or experience within the health or palliative care sector to attend. While not directly targeting health professionals, we welcome everyone interested.

What topics are explored?

  • Common myths and facts about palliative and end-of-life care.
  • What is palliative care?
  • Who provides palliative care in Tasmania
