discuss the seasonal cycles of gathering and harvesting garden plants for dye making
learn to prepare cloth and a dye bath for bundle dyeing
make our own dyed fabric from plants from Pen’s garden
With Craig, we will:
consider the form of the circle in creative process and in more-than-human worlds
experiment with an ecological approach to drawing, and with drawing as an experience of dialogue with nature
All drawing and dyeing materials included

About the facilitators:
Pen Pender (she/her): 'I have a long held passion for plants. Growing, tending and learning about them as a florist and gardener. My introduction to natural dyeing came from reading a magazine article in 2019, I have been hooked ever since! This is an ancient craft and one that is fascinating to explore. It is seeing a welcome revival and with it the awareness of materials, thoughtful manufacture and consumerism.' penpender.com
Craig Burgess (he/him) is an artist and facilitator. Craig started hosting drawing workshops in 2023 at the overlap of creative process, nature-connectedness and wellbeing. Craig brings curiosity around drawing’s capacity to support embodied presence, reflection and noticing, and to revitalise a sense of relationship with each other and the more-than-human. drawplantstogether.com
