Description

Pull up a seat for a relaxed Sunday evening of short films celebrating the farmers, creatives and communities doing good things with, in and around food. Grab an early dinner from the food truck, drink from the bar and settle in for some uplifting moments, pushed boundaries and plenty of food for thought.

On the night:

  • A curated programme of short films (see below)

  • Food & drink available for purchase from our bar and food truck - beer brewed onsite by Shed tenant and film subject, Blind Boy Brewing.

  • All welcome - families*, mates, locals and fellow foodies (no pets other than service animals, sorry!)

  • A great night out with people who give a damn about good food.

  • 10% of bar profits from the night support Australian Food Sovereignty Alliance

Reel Food Stories is the evening event of People's Day — the community day of SEQ Food Summit 2026. If you want to go deeper, join us for the daytime workshop here.

*Please note that the third film of the night, Tucker, contains a butchery scene that may be confronting for some young or vegetarian viewers. We've put it last in the line-up so you can leave earlier if needed.

FILMS

  • Brewing Blind - story of the blind brewer

Brewing Blind - story of the blind brewer

After countless rejections from breweries, a passionate, legally blind beer brewer created his own brewery brand and business, defying others’ expectations of what they think someone with a disability can achieve. With accessibility at the forefront of Blind Boy Brewing, Jacob champions his own abilities and utilises his heightened other senses to craft extraordinary beer that breaks down misrepresentations of people with disabilities. Written, directed and produced by Matt Williams

  • Local Food Stories

Co-produced by Liz Sanders (from The Food Embassy), Liza Savchuk, and Libby Tozer

  • TUCKER

    TUCKER

A chef, a pig farmer, and a self confessed hypocrite journey through restaurant, slaughter, and paddock, confronting the question: if we eat meat, can we face the moment life ends. Tucker is a 35 minute documentary that confronts modern disconnection from food systems by following 3 people and their strong relationship to the animals they work with and consume. Produced by Jai Felinski
