Event description

**This is an updated version of the 2024 CE program of the same name.**

This is a continuing education program for mental health providers focused on the topics of religious trauma, spiritual abuse, and high-control religion.  Whether you work specifically with religious concerns or not, it's likely you will come across a client who has been impacted.

Your investment in this course will provide you with tools to be more aware of how the impacts of religious trauma and spiritual abuse may present in the therapy settings, as well as help you feel more confident in your decisions regarding how to address these presenting concerns.  This program will provide information to assist mental health professionals in evaluating clients’ presenting concerns and assessing for the presence of religious trauma or the impacts of spiritual abuse, as well as provide information regarding evidence-based treatment modalities that are effective in decreasing the symptoms for these clients.

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  • assess for symptoms related to religious trauma
  • differentiate potentially harmful religious practices from healthy spirituality
  • identify the impacts of religious trauma on typical human development
  • describe effective treatment modalities to address religious trauma

Any questions or accommodation requests should be directed to Michelle F. Moseley, LCMHC via email to owner@michellefmoseley.com

Due to delayed processing at NBCC, approval for continuing education credits is currently pending.  Approval is expected to be finalized prior to this event and marketing will be updated at that time.  The expected CE credit hours allotted for this course = 6
