Technology can model the risk, but it takes people to read their place, spot what's at hand, and build something that works when it counts.

Our opening event of Creative Repair Kit, a six-month series of in-person design and systems thinking sprints tackling global challenges through hands-on, human-only problem solving.

No AI, no screens, no slides, just materials on a table and people, in threes, using the skills no algorithm can do for you: rapid collaboration, lateral creativity, and reading a room in crisis.

What you'll do: case-study talk → local risk-mapping → build a prototype → 90-second live pitch

We open with the story of a designer who turned a tote bag into a life-saving flotation device in 15 seconds.

Then it's your turn.

In groups of 3 you'll map local flood risk, trace how one shock ripples through a community, then turn an everyday bag into a flood survival tool that assembles in under 60 seconds.

You'll pitch it in 90 seconds and test it live.

Creative Repair Kit is human skills development in its rawest form: this is what fast, collective, creative problem-solving under pressure actually feels like.
