Rescued & Reimagined Workshop 14 - Issey Miyake Inspired
Event description
Rescued & Reimagined: Collaborative wearable art with Upcycle Newcastle
Inspired by Issey Miyake, in this workshop we'll explore geometric shapes from the mid-1990s while making a unique dress and coat — think denim, organza, and tumbling squares. Both hand and machine sewing will be used, as well as a wrapping process using T-shirt yarn - it's your choice!
No experience required! Light refreshments provided.
Join the Upcycle Newcastle team for a unique collaborative workshop experience at the Clyde Street Arts Precinct as part of Rescued & Reimagined and NMPM: ReFashionista. More than just a creative exercise, these workshops explore sustainability, circular economy, renewal, and the beauty of reinvention.
Over the course of 24 workshops, we will be creating multiple wearable artworks that will be showcased at the free NMPM: ReFashionista event, Newcastle Museum on Thursday 19th June, 5-9pm
Thanks to the generous support of the City of Newcastle, these workshops are being offered for the heavily discounted price of $15 each participant ($10 concession).
