Event description
Discover the hidden marine life of the Little Bay rock platforms and intertidal zone! As the tide recedes, a rich array of sea creatures is revealed.
Join expert marine biologists Will Jones and Murray Cook as they identify and open our eyes up to these fascinating species while teaching us how to minimise our impact on these delicate ecosystems.
Aboriginal welcome and cultural sharing 3pm - 3.15pm
Before the tour start, respected Aboriginal elder Aunty Maxine Ryan from La Perouse will share her cultural knowledge, experiences and stories of the local coastal area.
This activity requires some physical challenges, including walking up and down the stairs at Little Bay Beach. Walking approximately 500 metres along the beach and walking on unsteady, uneven and slippery surfaces during the tour.
Meet at Prince Henry Centre.
Wear closed-in shoes, sunhat, long sleeve top and bring a water bottle. Maximum 40 people per tour.
Conditions of booking:
Minimum age 5 years
Maximum of 3 children per adult guardian
Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian
Children and adult alike need to pay
Refunds provided up to 48hrs prior to the event start time.

Photographs, videos and voice recordings
Randwick City Council staff may on occasion take recordings of participants during activities (including photographs, videos and voice recordings) that could be used for the following purposes:
educational or community information purpose
Council displays and promotions of community education events
to complement the promotion of Randwick's Marine and Coastal Program.
If you DO NOT wish for the participant’s recording to be used according to these conditions, please indicate this during the booking process.
Cancellation conditions
This activity may be cancelled due to insufficient bookings or poor weather. Participants will be advised in the event the activity changes or cancellation occurs. All care has been made in the preparation of the January 2026 Marine and Coastal Discovery Program, but some changes may occur due to circumstances beyond the control of Randwick City Council. Refunds will be provided for paid activities up to 48 hours prior to the activity start and in the event of cancellation by Randwick City Council.
