Event description

Another fun session where you can get your hands dirty, this time to create your own Bee inspired mug!

Gen will present another fun pottery workshop where you can start your own journey with clay. This session is suitable for beginners who have never worked with clay or have limited experience in how to work with it. We will show you all the basics of how to create a mug - with NO pressure for it to be the most awesome and perfect mug AT ALL! This session is like our other Sip 'n Paint events where the focus is on trying something, giving yourself permission to be creative and just play! Add any bee inspired textures to it, craft your own little bees to add to it or use our rollers to add texture - It can be as plain or extravagant as you want it!

Your beautiful mug, once glazed and second fired (separate session), will be food, oven and dishwasher safe.

This session includes:

- 1 Complimentary glass of house wine/beer (18+) or a hot beverage
- Learning basics of working with Clay
- Learning about the clay process, drying, firing and glazing
- Techniques to help you in the journey to create your functional piece of pottery
- Complimentary clear glaze if you would like it

Our workshop itself is two hours long with plenty of time in between to relax and enjoy the night.
We meet at 6pm for a 6:30pm start with all  Materials are included in this session.

Collection info - VERY IMPORTANT!
The first bisque firing is included in the fee for this workshop. Your unglazed items will be ready to collect after 3 weeks (please note at this stage your items are not yet suitable for washing or for use with food.) We don't remind you to come back to collect as we are giving you a fixed date for collection.

If you want to continue your clay journey and make your item food safe and washable you will need to glaze and leave your items with us for a final firing (Fee applies), you can book into one of our DIY glazing sessions and get access to our more specialised glazes.

Please note, clay can be quite unpredictable at times. Items can warp, crack or even blow up during the firing process.  Even seasoned potters have the occasional disaster in the kiln. Jane will guide you through the creating of your piece as best she can to help prevent these mishaps although there is just no absolutely certain way to ensure everything is a success.  It is all part of this wonderful world we call  ceramics! If your piece happens to suffer any of these unfortunate events Mug n Brush can not be held responsible.

Our Bar will be open to cater for all your Sipping requirements and our kitchen is now open evenings too! Feel free to come earlier to enjoy a meal - our bar section and Menu is available from 6pm!

Please note: We are NOT a traditional venue with a quiet classroom. At our venue you may find other creatives working on their own projects like making a drink carry case, building and hammering a rustic key holder together or using the pottery wheels. We are all about creating a fun, lively venue filled with laughter!

Places are limited so please enrol via the ticket link on this event as soon as possible.

Entrance to our venue is from the carpark at the back of 5 Mackinnon street, Rockingham
