Songwriters in the Round

An intimate night of music and storytelling with Philly locals Ari Carter and Oaks (of The Side Chicks), along with traveling troubadours Soleil Ouimet and Evan Veasey from Asheville, NC.

Writers in the Round is a solo artist format that originated in Nashville. Singer-songwriters sit in a semi-circle, taking turns sharing songs and the stories behind them. It’s a unique, engaging way for audiences to connect deeply with the music and the artist’s process.

Co + Oaks
Co + Oaks is a stripped down acoustic experience that blends music of songwriters Donnie CoCo and Oaks of “the Side Chicks”. They weave together guitar melodies and vocal harmonies for the listeners to experience their songs in a new way.

Oaks started The Side Chicks in 2016 with Staci Fink and some friends. The sound has evolved from alt-rock to pop to funk, and now to a rich mixture of neo-soul. The band takes inspiration from artists like Hiatus Kaiyote, Anderson .Paak, Amy Winehouse, and Jorja Smith.
