Event description

Give Māori a Go – Pronunciation Made Easy

Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori (Māori Language Week) is the perfect time to sharpen your pronunciation skills and grow your confidence using te reo Māori.

Join us at Ashburton Library for a friendly, interactive 1.5-hour workshop with te reo Māori teacher Kate White. Whether you’re starting from scratch or brushing up on what you know, you’ll learn how to:

  • Confidently pronounce familiar Māori names, places, and greetings

  • Use tips and strategies to tackle new words

  • Access apps and websites to keep improving

If you’ve ever hesitated to say a Māori word at work or in conversation for fear of “getting it wrong,” this session is for you. You’ll leave with practical tools, fresh confidence, and the courage to give te reo Māori a go.

This event is free but numbers are limited so registrations are essential.

Organised by Keep Learning Mid Canterbury and the Ashburton Library.
