Tactile Tour with Ben David | Threads of Listening
Description
See, touch and hear Threads of Listening through the eyes and hands of the artist.
Join Ben David for a guided tour of his multi-sensory textile exhibition, created during his Artist in Residence program at FORM Gallery. Threads of Listening explores the connections between touch, sound, landscape and memory, bringing together hand-tufted textiles that each carry their own sound.
As you move through the gallery, Ben will share the materials, techniques and processes behind each work. Feel the textures of wool and fabric, and activate the large interactive centrepiece that transforms touch into field recordings gathered in Claremont and across Western Australia.
Drawing on Ben's practice as a textile artist and his work in disability-led arts and access, this relaxed and engaging tour welcomes you to experience the works from the artist's perspective, through every sense.
