Trauma Aware and Healing Informed Care - an Inclusive Approach for CHSP Providers
Trauma affects a person's wellbeing, relationships and behaviours. It can have significant impacts for older people and without effective care it has the potential to cause further harm. This workshop will introduce you to what trauma is, potential sources of trauma and how to recognise trauma responses in aged care settings using an inclusive approach. It will explore basic strategies of how to prevent potential trauma responses and how to support an older person who is experiencing the effects of trauma, respecting diversity and moving towards healing and recovery.
