8+ Years: Planning Together: Virtual Autism MyTime
Event description
Every child has things that help them feel safe, supported, and confident. Autistic children often share their insights in their own way, and when we listen, we gain valuable insight into what really helps them thrive.
This session is about creating space for your child’s voice to be heard in planning, whether that’s around school, therapy, or daily routines. Together, we’ll discuss ways to involve children in decision making, and how to find the right balance between guiding and walking alongside them.
In this peer group we’ll explore
Why children’s voices matter in planning
Gentle, everyday ways to invite their input
How listening helps children grow confidence and self-advocacy
Balancing guidance with honouring your child’s perspective
This group is facilitated by Kristy
Kristy is a proud mum to Dash, who is Autistic and has ADHD, just like his mum. She’s passionate about connecting with other families and celebrating neurodivergent joy and all the strengths that come with thinking differently.
