You’ve noticed what’s working. Now let’s design what’s next. 👩🏽‍🌾

In Session Two of Wilder by Design: Hacks for Habitat, Master Naturalist Anna Graether guides participants from observation into intentional design. This session focuses on helping you translate your unique site conditions into a thoughtful, wildlife-supportive plan that feels doable and aligned with your space, values, and capacity.

Whether you’re working with a small urban yard, a suburban landscape, or a shared green space, you’ll learn practical “habitat hacks” that move you from ideas to action—without the pressure of perfection or professional design experience.

What You’ll Learn

• How to assess your site’s conditions (sun, soil, moisture, and use)

• How to match plants to the insects, birds, and mammals they support

• Tips for creating a DIY planting plan, including paths, spaces, and planting areas

• How to design a flexible layout that can grow and evolve over time

This session emphasizes planning with nature rather than against it—supporting biodiversity while creating a space that is both functional and welcoming for people.

About the Presenter

Anna Graether is a Johnson County Extension Master Naturalist, Board Member of The Resilient Activist, and Nature Advisor with Deep Roots KC. She brings a grounded, encouraging approach to habitat gardening that prioritizes progress over perfection and connection over overwhelm.

• All sessions run 6:30–8:00 PM CST via Zoom

• Sessions will be recorded and shared with registrants

• A $10 donation per session is suggested
