Event description

This working group will focus on 'Conducting Gemba Walks'

With guest presenter Mr Gavan Scaroni – CI Lead at Thales - Brisbane.

Gemba – the actual place where the source of the real truth exists.

Is the Gemba approach an embedded behaviour in your business? It should be.

If you are a leader of people and processes, a problem solver or a design engineer then this is an event for you.

Come and join us as Gavan shares his insights on how Gemba has become a foundation stone of their OPEX journey at the Thales Eagle Farm factory.

Our events are an excellent forum for networking and engaging in 'peer to peer' learning with other members. To get the most out of the event you need to attend the event with a willingness to contribute to group discussions.

    LinkedIn Profile

Gavan’s career has taken him on a journey through various industries including Transport, Logistics, Mining, Manufacturing, FMCG, Construction and Defence. Having held roles in these industries in Operations Management, Production Management and Continuous Improvement Leadership Gavan’s experience has given him the ability to be able to blur the lines between CI methodologies and mould the value of these methodologies into a system designed for the application.

Having first learnt Lean in Japan, Gavan was later further mentored by a Toyota Production Manager and the founders of the Project Production Institute taking his knowledge in Lean to a new level. He has been able to use this learning, combined with his experience to Design, Implement and Improve CI systems from both a practical hands-on approach and a practical coaching approach.

As the Continuous Improvement Lead for Thales Brisbane, Gavan has been working on numerous projects which aim to improve areas in the business such as sustainability and production and build the performance capability of the team members site at all levels.

Gavan has a passion for efficient and effective delivery of business objectives in a safe and sustainable manner. Coaching and using tools and methodologies from TOC/Lean/Six Sigma/Project Production management Gavan focuses on instilling the values and behaviours to create the culture for integrated site-wide CI that harbours the generation of a robust effective and efficient delivery system.
