Event description

Gain practical skills and strategies for identifying priority learning areas, using assessment results, and designing targeted instruction.

These workshops are designed for Workplace Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) educators, but will also be of benefit to any educator delivering LLN to adult learners. 

You can register for each of the workshops individually. 

A special rate is available for those who register for all four workshops.

Workshop 1 | Numeracy in the workplace

Date: Monday, 9 June 2025, 12.10pm - 1pm

This workshop presents a research-informed process for planning and delivering numeracy in a workplace context. It draws on the Learning Progressions for Adult Numeracy, assessment, and Workplace LLN needs analysis.

Workshop 2 | The LNAAT assessments

Date: Monday, 16 June 2025, 12.10pm - 1pm

This workshop covers how to read and interpret the LNAAT reports, how to design effective plans, target specific needs, and select suitable activities.

Workshop 3 | Reading and writing in the workplace

Date: Monday, 23 June 2025, 12.10pm - 1pm

This workshop answers the question: ‘How do I support learners to read and write in the workplace?’ It presents a range of workplace-oriented strategies that can be applied to almost any workplace training programme.

Workshop 4 | Needs analysis

Date: Monday, 30 June 2025, 12.10pm - 1pm

Conducting a Workplace Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) needs analysis is the cornerstone of an effective Workplace LLN programme. framework. In this workshop we will discuss a methodology for conducting a Workplace LLN needs analysis and developing a plan.

Billing information

We accept payments by card or by invoice. At checkout you will be able to choose your payment option. Invoices are raised by Massey University on behalf of Ako Aotearoa so please note that there will be a delay between registering for the event and receiving the invoice.

PLEASE NOTE: Invoices are limited to payment from registered tertiary organisations only

If you would like to pay by invoice, before registering, please find out from your finance team:

  • the billing address and the email address you would like the invoice sent to.
  • whether or not you require a purchase number, if a purchase order number is required, please email accounts@ako.ac.nz after registering with the order number in the subject line.

If you are registering other people, please make sure to select 'Email tickets to each attendee' on the registration form so that each person receives their unique access to the online course/workshop.
