Event description
Writing for Children: From Manuscript to Published Book
When: Tuesday March 25, 2025, from 7:00-8:30pm
Level: Beginner &Â Intermediate
Age Group: 18+
Description: The path from writing a complete manuscript to holding a published book in your hands is twisty, bumpy, and long. This workshop will introduce writers to the milestones they may encounter along the way to traditional publication, including the role of agents, work for hire options, and more. There will be ample time for questions and discussion.  Â
By the end of this workshop, participants will understand the process of getting a children’s book traditionally published. Â
About the facilitator: Elizabeth Pagel-Hogan is an author and educator from Pittsburgh, PA. She loves exploring history and science. Her books include Animal Allies: 15 Amazing Women in Wildlife Research, named an Outstanding Science Trade Book of 2022 by NSTA, and The Science and Technology of Leonardo da Vinci. Elizabeth lives with her family and pet schnoodle and loves board games, birding, and baking. She’s a lifelong runner and community volunteer.
