Etching Course #1 - Hard Ground and Soft Ground

This course covers traditional etching techniques that artists have employed for centuries.

Learn how the ‘old masters’ made their marks on copper plates using hard-ground and soft-ground techniques, explore and experiment with different mark-making, drawing, and printing methods.

The course covers plate preparation and the application of grounds, plate processing, and paper preparation. You will learn the correct use of an etching press and registration techniques to print your very own original prints.
