A Taste of Nigeria
Event description
Learn to make some yummy dishes, popular in Nigeria, then sit down and enjoy them with others!
We will get a taste of Nigeria with our host Nate John. Originally from Gombe in North eastern Nigeria, Nate has been in New Zealand for 7 years, the last 3 of those here in Mid Canterbury.
Under Nate's guidance, we will make Jollof Rice - a very famous tomatoey rice dish with chicken (df, gf) and a Nigerian style coleslaw (vt, gf). For dessert we will make Masa (fermented rice cake balls) also known as waina (vt, df, gf).
Come along and get some new recipe ideas, learn about another country and enjoy a delicious dinner together with others! Limited to 10 people so get in quick.
Please note this month's event is not suitable for vegetarians unless you just want coleslaw and dessert! If you are gluten-free, please let us know, so we ensure that the stock & seasonings we use are gf. If you have any food allergies please please check the menu and then contact us if you are unsure if the event will be suitable for you.
This event is one in a series of 'A Taste of... ' cooking classes organised & subsidised by Keep Learning Mid Canterbury and the Mid Canterbury Newcomers Network.
