Event Overview

Join us for a transformative day of learning, sharing, and connection tailored for multidisciplinary professionals in the psychedelic field. This event is designed to deepen understanding, foster community, and celebrate the possibilities of psychedelic-assisted therapies. With workshops, discussions, and creative explorations, the day will culminate in an evening celebration of art, music, and connection.

Morning Program
10:00 am - 11: am: Welcome and Networking
Kickstart the day with an introduction to AMAPP, meet fellow members of the team and morning tea.

11am-12:30pm: Dr Lani Roy and Melissa Warner SWIM model for PAT.

Dr. Lani Roy and Melissa Warner will share their lived and professional experience, which has led to the development of SWIM, a framework built on four foundational frames—Metacognition, Somatic, Interdependence, and Wisdom—each containing four key learning lenses to support psychedelic-assisted therapy (PAT) and the art of healing. This interactive session will explore how these frames enhance integration, learning, and therapeutic practice, offering practitioners a deeper, more embodied approach to their work. Join them for a dynamic and experiential exploration of SWIM in the context of PAT.

Melissa Warner: B. Science (Neuroscience), Grad Dip (Psych)

Melissa Warner is a scientist, therapist, futurist, and artist dedicated to exploring innovative solutions for mental health and cultivating a holistic understanding of well-being. She serves as the Secretary of Psychedelic Research in Science and Medicine (PRISM), a meditation teacher, co-founder of The Australian Psychedelic Society, and co-director of the Cyberdelic Society. Melissa’s work focuses on the intersection of psychedelic science, meditative practices, and flow states, seeking to uncover their potential to enhance human health and flourishing. Through contemplative practices, altered states, and play, she bridges the worlds of research, therapy, and creativity to inspire transformative healing.

Dr. Lani Roy – Chair of AMAPP, Psychologist, Social Worker, Advocate, PAT Therapist

Dr. Lani Roy is the Chair of AMAPP, dedicated to fostering a multidisciplinary PAT community and evolving the Australian psychedelic landscape through community, creativity, and innovation. She specializes in cannabis and ketamine PAT and is actively engaged in Ayahuasca research with Indigenous communities in Peru and Australia. Passionate about harm reduction, co-design, and lived experience, Lani integrates science and the sacred in her work and explores nature-based therapies to expand PAT beyond clinical settings.

Afternoon Program
1:00 pm - 3:30 pm: Somato-Psychedelic Integration
Speaker: Dr. Frederick Swann (B. App. Sc. Chiropractic, B. App. Sc. Clinical Science)
Explore the role of body-based practices in psychedelic therapy, focusing on the down-regulation of anxiety, the release of emotions, and achieving ease and flow. This session will delve into how unresolved psychic content is stored in the body and the most effective ways to create a safe and stable container for processing.


3:45 pm - 5:00 pm:  Lana Sciberras: The Wonders & Challenges of Being a Psychedelic Psychotherapist
Speaker: Lana Sciberras, MCounsHS, Adv Dip Gestalt Therapy
Lana will share insights and experiences from her work as a psychedelic psychotherapist, highlighting the unique challenges and rewards of this field. She is a Clinical Psychotherapist trained in Gestalt Therapy and Process-oriented Psychology, Mindfulness and Compassion therapies. She has worked in private practice for over 20 years and facilitated inpatient and outpatient therapy groups in a psychiatric setting. She also specialises in addiction therapy. She is a devoted meditator and accredited facilitator trainer of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy groups for relapse prevention for depression.

She is part of Monash University’s Clinical Psychedelic Lab having been trained by the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS). She is currently a therapist on the MDMA-Assisted Psychotherapy trial for severe PTSD. She is also working as a psychedelic psychotherapist in three Psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy trials for TRD. Lana is a clinical supervisor working with individual clients and clinical groups and facilitates Reflective Practice Clinical Supervision for the Trauma and ICU teams at The Alfred Hospital.


Evening Program

5:00 pm - 10:00 pm: Social Celebration
Step into a creative space filled with connection, music, food, and art therapy across multiple rooms.

Nicola Gracie: a Creative Therapist, Writer, TRE, Yoga, Meditation, Breathwork and Pranayama Facilitator with a passion for all things feeling! She holds a Graduate Diploma in Creative Art Therapy as well as a Masters in Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

5:00 pm - 6:00 pm: The Role of Art in Psychedelic Integration with Nicola Gracie
Explore the synergy between art therapy, somatic practices, and psychedelic integration. This interactive workshop invites participants to tap into imagistic sensitivity and non-verbal ways of knowing. Participants will engage in creative expression through art-making and reflective writing, contributing to a collaborative art project displayed at the event.

Evening Celebration:
The evening will continue with a communal atmosphere of celebration, including music, art, and connection. Please bring a musical instrument if you wish to contribute to the gathering. Contact drlani.roy@amapp.au if you'd like to offer your musical talents or other creative contributions.

Music with Dan Cully is a Melbourne-based solo musician whose work is inspired by the natural world, reflecting themes of vast landscapes and interconnectedness. His Indie/Roots music incorporates harmonica, didgeridoo, stomp box, guitar, and soaring vocal melodies, creating the feel of a full band in his solo performances.

A national touring artist, Dan has supported artists like ARIA award-winner Deborah Conway and The Weeping Willows. He has performed at top Australian festivals alongside acts such as The Pierce Brothers and Dom Turner. In 2024, he released the single "Changes" and embarked on a 30-show east coast tour. His upcoming album, set for release in mid-2025, highlights the versatility of his songwriting. Dan is passionate about AMAPP's vision and looks forward to connecting with the community.

Note: Participants are encouraged to bring personal artwork or altered-state art to contribute to the Altered State Art Wall, creating a memorable spot for group photos and reflection
